LAEF is raising funds to support LASD in providing STEM, Wellness, Literacy, and Arts to every student in Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade this school year. District goals and LAEF support for each area are as follows:


STEM - Science Technology, Engineering & Mathematics

LASD’s STEM program builds disciplinary knowledge and skills, including the 6 Cs, in science, technology, engineering, and math. This comprehensive program involves four distinct components:

LAEF supports LASD’s STEM program by funding people who work behind the scenes and with students to bring the program to life, as well as Computer Science teachers.

In addition to inclusive and welcoming classrooms and schools, LASD's Wellness program supports students' health and wellness development.

Literacy - Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening, and Language

LASD’s Literacy program immerses students in literature, research, and meaningful academic conversation. Students learn foundational skills as well as how to think about and communicate complex ideas.
